What to expect on your River Safari

 Setting Off

Your river safari typically begins in the early morning or late afternoon, as these are the times when wildlife is most active.

The Boat

You’ll board a comfortable and specially designed safari boat. These boats are often open-sided or equipped with canopies to provide unobstructed views of the riverbanks, wildlife, and the breathtaking scenery.

Scenic Beauty

As you depart from the lodge, you’ll immediately be surrounded by the natural beauty of the Zambezi River.

Scenic Stops

Your guide will likely make stops at certain points of interest along the river. This could include getting closer to a pod of hippos or observing a group of elephants as they come to the river to drink and play.

Sundowners

For sunset safaris, a highlight is often the “sundowner” break. Your boat might anchor at a picturesque spot on the river where you can enjoy drinks and snacks while watching the sun set over the Zambezi, casting a golden hue over the water.

WildLife Encounters

One of the highlights of the river safari is the incredible wildlife encounters. The Zambezi National Park is home to a diverse range of animals, and you might spot elephants, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, various antelope species, and a wide variety of birdlife.
